چکیده

Aeromonas hydrophila inhabits freshwater and soil and is mainly pathogenic to cold-blooded animals. It is known to cause red leg disease in frogs, septicemia and stomatitis in snakes and infections in freshwater fish. 1 Human infections due to members of the genus Aeromonas are considered rare and mainly occur in immune compromised individuals or patients who are suffering from chronic disease. 2We describe below a case of Aeromonas infection in a patient with chronic active hepatitis.

A Rare Case of Aeromonas Hydrophila Catheter Related Sepsis in a Patient with Chronic Kidney Disease Receiving Steroids and Dialysis: A Case Report and Review of Aeromonas Infections in Chronic Kidney Disease Patients

Aeromonas hydrophila (AH) is an aquatic bacterium. We present a case of fifty-five-year-old gentleman with chronic kidney disease (CKD) due to crescentic IgA nephropathy who presented to us with fever. He was recently pulsed with methyl prednisolone followed by oral prednisolone and discharged on maintenance dialysis through a double lumen dialysis catheter. Blood culture from peripheral vein a...

Observations on Aeromonas hydrophila septicaemia in a patient with leukaemia.

A Gram-negative bacillus isolated from the blood of a leukaemic patient with septicaemia was identified on the basis of common tests as Escherichia coli. However, the organism's antibiogram was atypical of E. coli and led to its re-examination and correct identification as Aeromonas hydrophila. A. hydrophila is sensitive to chloramphenicol and tetracycline, characteristics useful in differentia...

Draft Genome Sequence of Aeromonas hydrophila Strain BSK-10 (Serotype O97), Isolated from Carassius carassius with Motile Aeromonad Septicemia in China

We report here a draft genome sequence of Aeromonas hydrophila strain BSK-10, belonging to serotype O97, isolated from crucian carp (Carassius carassius) with motile aeromonad septicemia in Zhejiang, China. The assembly resulted in 34 scaffolds totaling approximately 4.97 Mb, with an average G+C content of 60.97% and 4,594 predicted coding genes.

Pathogenic analysis of Aeromonas hydrophila septicemia.

Aeromonas hydrophila has emerged as a potential pathogen in the immunocompromised host. Various aeromonal infections, including septicemia, have also been reported in apparently healthy individuals. For years, researchers have disagreed over the epidemiologic roles of aeromonads in gastroenteritis. Isolation rates of aeromonads by stool culture among patients with gastroenteritis are not consis...
